This update comes to you from a gym-happy girl. Today marks one full week since I’ve been back in the gym. After three months of being forbidden to workout, my physical therapist finally told me to put my knee to the test. I still obviously can’t do everything I’d like, but we’re making huge strides in the right direction.

So far I’ve only taken one rest day and that was just because I didn’t make it home in time to get a workout in. But my plan is to go every day until I leave CT. The soreness is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I guess that’s what happens when you start working out again. The good news is that it’s still an amazing feeling and the post-startup bloating is finally starting to go down. 

As of yesterday, I weigh 153.6 pounds. This time a year ago I was 20 pounds heavier- WHAT?!?!. Although I’d love to see a smaller number there, I’m starting to focus on how my body looks again, rather than the number. Semi-bed rest for a quarter year will do a great job of taking away any of those defined muscles you had before. I care much more about toning and defining than seeing a small number on the scale. Main areas of focus? Thighs and arms. And of course that lower belly “snack pack” that taunts me. (Although it is happily filled with peanut butter and chick peas.) 

And there’s your weekly update! I’ll be lounging, making random lists, sweating in the gym and unsuccessfully trying to get a tan for the rest of the day. Until next week, loves!
